Merry Christmas to you, Christ our Savior is born. Truly this indeed is good news, just as the angel said to the shepherds many years ago “Do not be afraid, for I behold I bring you good tidings of great JOY which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11. Yes Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. In John 3:16 we read; “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Jesus Christ is the perfect gift of God to us. “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” In Ephesians 2:8 we read; “For by grace you have been saved through faith, that not of yourself it is the gift of God.” Have you received the gift of His Son Jesus Christ, have you received the gift of salvation? This indeed is the true meaning of Christmas, beyond opening your Christmas gifts and beyond sharing your Christmas dinner with family and friends or celebrating Christmas in other unique ways.
“Jesus Christ is the light of the world, if you follow Him you will not walk in darkness but have the light of life.” John 8:12, therefore fulfilling the words in Isaiah 9:2 “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” Light up your world this Christmas, accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. Let’s join the heavenly host in praising God and saying “Glory be to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” Yes the wonder of Christmas should evoke a praise response from us as we ponder and reflect on all He has done for us. This indeed will result in a very Merry Christmas. Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas!
