Trials and challenges are part of the reality of life. At one time or the other we will all experience the storms of life, no one is immune to life’s stresses and tough times. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by the tornadoes which occurred recently in Texas and Oklahoma. People who live in high-risk areas for hurricanes and tornadoes have their houses specially designed and built. They also build storm shelters to take refuge in case of a storm warning. We also need to be prepared to face the storms of life; this only comes from having a dynamic personal relationship with God and by living in obedience to the leadership of the Holy Spirit who guides us unto all truth and as we allow God’s word to dwell in us richly. It takes being “rooted and built up in Him, established in the faith and abounding in it with thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:7. As we read God’s word we find the early warning signs and what it takes to avoid some life’s storms and what it takes to withstand those storms we cannot avoid. You can weather life’s storms by the special grace of Almighty God. Jesus said in Matthew 7:24, “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him to a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.” Build your life on Jesus Christ the Solid Rock of ages so that when the rain descends and the floods come, and the wind blows and beat upon your “house” you will not fall. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in the time of trouble, therefore we will not fear. God bless you!
