I would like to share the testimony of how Almighty God averted a fire disaster in my home, which led to the inspiration to write this book. It was about eight o’clock in the evening on Wednesday December 24,2003, when my son and I arrived home from a Christmas Eve worship service. I started to fix our dinner. While the meal was cooking on the stove-top, I set the oven to preheat to four hundred in order to bake dinner rolls. I waited but did not hear the beeping sound that it usually made to let me know that the oven was ready to bake, when I opened the oven door a second time I saw a small flame inside I immediately cried out “fire” and I reached out and grabbed my fire extinguisher and sprayed at the flame. Thank God it was within easy reach.
The flame went out after my initial sprays, but a few seconds later a bigger flame sprang out. At that moment I had a quick flashback of the picture of the fire I had seen in my dream a few months earlier of the flames of a fire rising up above my garage which is adjacent to my kitchen. My son and I got out safely, we stood at the bottom of the hill of our cu-de-sac with some neighbors looking at the rising flame. In the dream I shouted “Call 911!” and I woke up. What a relief to know that it was only a dream. I prayed about it and took the necessary precautions to prevent any possible fire and I made sure I had a working fire extinguisher close to my oven.
A few months earlier I had a dream about another incidence in which God intervened. As soon as I saw the bigger flame I cried out to my son Johnny to call 911, while I continued to spray at the flame. Thank God the flame went completely before Johnny got to the phone. Almighty God intervened in a miraculous way by preventing a fire disaster, it was a close call. Smoke filled my kitchen but it cleared up, a service call on my oven revealed it was working just fine with no structural damage. A few days later I read an Erie Times-News report about a fire disaster that completely destroyed a familiar local business, thank God no one was hurt. You can imagine my relief and gratitude to God for His mighty deliverance in my situation.
I was inspired to write this book on Friday December 26, 2003, when I , felt an overwhelming sense of God’s presence power, love, and greatness, which led to a time of reverence, praise, and worship of Him in my heart as the attribute Almighty God echoed repeatedly in my spirit. The title of my book was clear and the heading of each chapter came to me as I continued in praise and adoration of Almighty God. I was thrilled but also humbled by the experience. So out of the smoke and ashes of a near fire disaster on Christmas Eve 2003, this book was born. This is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in my eyes. Amen!
