In John chap 4: 23-24 we read, “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.
I guess we all like to have what is true or genuine. Just imagine for a moment that you are given an opportunity to choose between two clearly labeled coins, one is genuine gold and the other is fake gold, my take is that you will likely choose the genuine gold coin. This will be my choice too. The truth is that we all have the tendency to seek that which is true or genuine. Yes, God is seeking true worshippers. This blog will give you some insights on what the acceptable and true worship of God is all about. Our sole purpose and essence in this life is to worship God. Ecclesiastes 12:13 (The Amplified version). Most of our worship is mechanical in outward posture and routine, but the worship that is acceptable to God can only be done in the heart and mind of a regenerated believer. In other words you must be born again to have an acceptable and meaningful worship that pleases God. The Bible makes us to understand that the carnal mind is enmity against God…so then they that are in the flesh cannot please God (Romans 8:7-8). Our sins have separated us from God, but there is hope and good news; “But God demonstrate His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). Our live is a mess without the Messiah but when the Messiah steps into our lives or situation, He can turn our mess into a message. Amen! Jesus Christ died to redeem us, to restore our fellowship with God so that we can connect with Him in true worship. The free gift of salvation is yours for the asking. At this time of the year when we celebrate Memorial Day, let us remember and be thankful for the sacrifices of all our service men and women and for Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our sins.
Worship is an act or an expression of thanksgiving to God, it is also involves recognition and reflection on who God is, His attributes and power. A recognition of His “worthship” and giving Him all the glory and praise for His greatness and all He has done. True worship is about God and for His glory. Our focus should be on Him not ourselves. It involves loving God with all our heart, soul and mind as we strive to live for Him everyday. The heart of the matter is the heart. True worship leads to revelation and it also involves surrender, sacrifice and service which in turn leads to blessings and reward. God is seeking true worshipers, let us respond as we seek to worship Him in truth and in spirit. Amen!
